Valrhona 2023 CSR Report

To remain a pioneer, we must continue to take action. In 2023, just as in previous years, our value chain has faced profound challenges. Yet, Valrhona remains convinced that by working together today with our employees, chefs, cocoa producers, and partners, we can shape a better tomorrow.

This year reaffirmed our long-term commitments: building a fair and sustainable cocoa industry, empowering communities, reducing our environmental impact, and inspiring an ethical gastronomy. From innovative agroforestry models in the Dominican Republic and Côte d’Ivoire to collective action with suppliers on carbon reduction, Valrhona continues to test, experiment, and imagine solutions for the future.

2023 was also a year of concrete achievements. We ensured 100% traceability of our cocoa beans back to producers and strengthened partnerships averaging more than 8 years. Over 84% of our suppliers signed the Responsible Purchasing Charter, and 100% of our executives now carry CSR objectives. Meanwhile, projects supported by the Valrhona Foundation provided training, education, and sustainable farming opportunities.

To remain at the forefront, Valrhona is stepping up its pace: developing agroecological practices, combating deforestation, ensuring fair prices for producers, and uniting stakeholders around climate action. Social and environmental responsibility is not an option, it is the foundation of our model.

We hope this report will provide you with a transparent overview of our commitments, progress, and ambitions, and invite you to join us in building a future where, together, good becomes better.
